Yesterday I tweeted I hadn't been well after a few trips to the hospital and that I wouldn't be posting this week. However on to day three of doing nothing I was going a little bit insane. So I decided to photograph this MAC eyeshadow I received for christmas (really strenuous work, you know.) I apologise for the rubbish swatches I don't usually review make up often! There's only so much day time TV one person can handle.
Gilt by association - MAC < link
This was my first eyeshadow purchase from MAC. I've bought lipsticks and blushes galore but I spotted this somewhere online when trying to pick what shade to try first and had to have it! It makes a pleasant change for a product to really live up to the hype! I will definitely be putting more MAC eyeshadows on my birthday wish list. Do you have any shade suggestions for me that would go well with blue eyes and blonde hair? Please let me know in the comments :)
This is such a beautiful antique gold colour it has hints of bronze and black this eyeshadow makes it really easy to achieve a light but intense smokey eye. I must admit I'm really impressed with the staying power of this too! It's bigger than the average MAC eyeshadows you get 2.2g for £16.50 but it's well worth it in my opinion. It's such a sultry shade with it being a mineralised eyeshadow there is fallout but not as much as I expected. Have you tried gilt by association what do you think?

I recently bought this on a trip to the Pro store in London - love it!

also... i have blonde hair and blue eyes too and i find that mac coppering, mac woodwinked, and mac amberlights look really nice. i sometimes wear a bit of mac lucky green on the bottom lashline too with coppering on top, and a dark brown in the crease. it really makes blue eyes stand out xx
ReplyDeleteI picked this shade up because grey smokey eyes don't suit me but I wanted a dark shade. I really love it, its so easy to wear.

Such a pretty shade, looks so different in the swatches than what it does in the pan. I'm looking for more MAC shadows as well and may have to put this on my list, I've currently got Sketch, Naked Lunch, Texture and Cranberry. I've seen a lot of posts featuring Cranberry. :) x

I bought this in Duty Free on my way home for Christmas, I love it so much that on my way back out to HK again I bought a purpley black called Young Punk and the greeny black called smutty green - both are awesome (I have blue eyes too!)Love that you can use different patches of the shadow cake to get different intensities!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

This is such an interesting shade. Leave it to MAC to come up with all kinds of eyeshadows. x

This shade is beautiful and so different. I love it :)x
ReplyDeleteHey love, instead of being judgmental or negative I want to approach this a different way! I think you are so gorgeous, and a role model for young girls. Would you consider buying/researching more make-up that does not test on animals? Bunnies, monkeys, and even cats & dogs are tortured and killed for our superficial needs. I think if you became a role model for this you could CHANGE the beauty world here in on YouTube! :) Love you so much! Hope you read this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous shade! I've never tried a MAC eyeshadow but this one is beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteThis gold shade is beautiful! It's amazing how MAC can make such pretty mineralised eyeshadows. They have some gorgeous mineralised blushes, too.
ReplyDeleteM.
This is such a beautiful colour!

I've always been a bit skeptical about the mac marbled styled eyeshadows but the colour is beautiful!
